STATEMENT

My life has always been rich creatively; as a graphic designer, fine art photographer, and most recently, painter. As with my photographs, many of my paintings have strong graphic elements that reflect personal experiences with people and places - abstracted visual memories taken mostly from childhood.

ABOUT

Elisa grew up in the UK and arrived in the United States at age 19 to follow her dream of being a commercial artist in NYC. After studying graphic design at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons, Elisa enjoyed a successful career as an art director for Arista Records and subsequently formed SeeHear Design, a design firm catering to the music industry. However, raising a young family and with a desire to work on something more personally meaningful, Elisa decided to shift her focus to fine art, specifically photography.

For almost two decades Elisa exhibited her experimental photographs throughout the United States and abroad, and was honored with significant recognition for her work. Most recently, Elisa’s focus has been on painting. She says that this is not an about-turn, or anything radical, just simply a continuation of her creative life, exploring the thrill of a new medium.

“History informs the present and my past creative endeavors are very much present and important influences in my work as a painter”.
